Lorna Zaremba has over twenty five years of experience in not-for-profit management. As an experienced leader and creative thinker, Lorna works in partnership with Ron Ulrich, Artistic Director, to ensure efficient operations to support achievement of artistic goals and strategic objectives.
As the Executive Director, Lorna has a mandate for building audiences, building capacity along with a sound administration of public and private funds. She has undertaken and led major campaigns for the theatre including the move to energy efficiency through the replacement of the roof and HVAC systems, the Audience Accessibility Project which transformed the lobby and mainspace, and the establishment of the new Theatre Aquarius Arts Education Centre at 55 Wentworth St. South.
Lorna is a committed citizen of the arts through her personal and professional involvement with the Art Gallery of Hamilton, The Rose Theatre in Brampton, Deaf Culture Canada, The Print Studio, Haldimand Art Works, Hamilton Arts Council, and Hamilton Halton Brant Regional Tourism Association.
Her vision is to ensure that Theatre Aquarius plays a role in the transformation of the new Hamilton, and to demonstrate that art can live and thrive within the heart of an industrial city. The transformative power of theatre art is a powerful agent for change, and one that Lorna seeks to share with as many members of our community as possible.
Lorna was selected as the YWCA of Hamilton 2012 Woman of Distinction in Arts & Culture.
