All of the participants in our theatre programs have their own skills, hard work and artistic identities, and every one of them is on a unique journey of which we are thrilled to be a part. In out Student Spotlight, Theatre Aquarius takes the opportunity to celebrate individual students who have made great strides, given extraordinary effort and who play a leadership role in their class work. Student Spotlight: Gismalla Mohamed

Gismalla Mohamed or ‘Gisy’ is a student at Cathedral. He was part of the Summer Stock in 2017 and is currently taking our teen acting class.

Here is what our instructors have to say about Gisy:

When we first met Gisy, he had just become interested in theatre. Before that, he was very focused on sports. His ability to connect meaningfully to material and press himself with authenticity and honesty is inspiring. He has a natural gift for acting and and he has made huge strides in his commitment to the hard work of training in the arts. We think he has the talent and tenacity to be successful. And look forward to continuing to work with him to increase his knowledge, experience, skills and practical tools to support his growth as an artist.

Here’s What Gisy has to say about his experience with Theatre Aquarius ODE:

Theatre school with Theatre Aquarius was my first taste of the theatre world; and what an experience it was! I dove deep into theatre here, being introduced to different cultures, peoples, and elements of performance. With a welcoming group of instructors and staff, I learned tons and grew a lot as a performer and individual. I will now take all that I’ve gotten out of the program and use it to expand my acting career. This place is now one of my foundations and holds a special place in my heart.
