Musical Theatre – Grades 4 to 7

Join us for winter and spring, participants will be working towards a performance piece for our spring show: The Emerald City!
Learn music, dance and acting all in one exciting and fun course! Bring musical theatre songs to life, learn technique, get active and challenge yourself in a safe and supportive environment. Classes include solo and group singing, dance and movement, and acting. Along with class work, we will be building a piece to perform in The Emerald City.
Key skills: solo and ensemble singing, learning choreography, physical awareness, creating characters and expression through song.
*It is possible for participants to take Part 1 or Part 2, however, it is preferable to engage in both sessions, as we will be building a performance piece throughout both Parts 1 and 2, that will be shared in a full school recital on May 27, 2023.

Classes: Wednesdays at 4:30pm – 6:30pm
Rehearsals: May 26 5:00pm – 8:00pm and May 27 10:00am – 12:30pm
Recital Show: May 27 at 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Part 2: $300 (or $260 if they have done Part 1)

Sing, dance and act! Musical theatre offers participants the opportunity to develop multiple skills, while gaining confidence, and teamwork. Explore musical theatre repertoire, learn choreography, develop characters, sing in small groups and as an ensemble. Along with class work, we will be building a piece to perform in The Emerald City.
Key skills: vocal technique, solo and ensemble singing, choreography, physical strength, flexibility, endurance and awareness, acting and expression through song.
*It is possible for participants to take Part 1 or Part 2, however, it is preferable to engage in both sessions, as we will be building a performance piece throughout both Parts 1 & 2, that will be shared in a full school recital on May 27, 2023.
