The Faculty

“Making the theatre school accessible and giving them the chance to be creative outside of school is changing their lives”

Margot Burnell, Head of Arts,
Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary School

“Teachers see the fruits of artist labour in students when they return to the classroom”

Luke Bramer,
Glendale Secondary School

Educating and training the next generation of theatre lovers and artists has been a vital part of Theatre Aquarius’ mission for many years, culminating in the opening this past summer of our new Arts Education Centre, with an expansion of our programming for young people.

Instilling a love of the arts is essential to many young people and their families, and it is so important that there be no barriers to participation. Help young people TAKE THE STAGE by sponsoring an enrollment in our Acting and Music Theatre programs for youth!

For years, with the help of partners in the community, Theatre Aquarius has been working with educators in schools identified as “high needs” to provide sponsored enrollments in our programs. Margot Burnell, Head of Arts at Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary writes; “The scholarships gave my students access to an incredible program. After the program, I saw a huge increase in confidence and ability.” Dylan Vandemaele, who participated in our sponsored programs through Glendale Secondary recently graduated to the professional stage at Theatre Aquarius in A Few Good Men!

These successes are wonderful, but there is so much more to do, and so many lives waiting to be enriched with the gifts of expression, imagination and confidence that dramatic arts instruction can offer, and by the inclusion of being welcome to share in these experiences.

Help a young person to TAKE THE STAGE and change a life! Your gift of $260 will sponsor one full enrollment (10 weeks) in our Acting and Music Theatre programs and make a difference that will last a lifetime!
