Mike is an internationally recognized theatre creator and performer – having written and performed in dozens of productions over two decades in Canadian theatre. He was the founding Slaight Family Director of Music at the Soulpepper Theatre, an international fellow at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London, England, and currently owns and operates a music hall in rural Prince Edward Island called Harmony House. He and his writing partner Sarah Wilson recently premiered De Frofundis: Oscar Wilde in Jail to great acclaim in Toronto. He is also the composer of Spoon River (critics pick in the New York Times) and ROSE (Dora award for best new musical). He is the recipient of 6 Dora Awards, 2 Merritt awards, 2 East Coast Music Awards and a two time gold medalist at the New York Festival of Radio and Drama.
