ABOUT THE SHOW
Have Jokes, Will Travel is a madcap comedy about a young man leaving Prince Edward Island for the first time and having an unexpected journey that takes him across Canada. From Montreal, to Fort McMurray, to different corners of Ontario, this hilarious and heartfelt adventure highlights the importance of community, family, and most importantly – home.
BIO
Justin Shaw is a comedian and storyteller originally from Prince Edward Island (and if you’re also from Cardigan, his dad probably knows your dad.) Fusing comedy and storytelling, Shaw has toured his solo shows across Canada, with theatre companies including Blyth Festival, Charlottetown Festival, Live @ The Centre, Here For Now, and Theatre Aquarius. The development of his solo work was documented in the Bell Fibe TV1 series Tales From Island Boy. He has appeared on Just For Laughs Toronto, Mike Birbiglia’s Working It Out comedy show, has opened for Harland Williams, Fortune Feimster, and tours regularly with Yuk Yuks across Ontario. Shaw’s debut comedy album Human Money showcases his down-home yet outrageous sense of humour, and can be heard on Just For Laughs Canada on Sirius XM.
DEVELOPMENT HISTORY
Have Jokes, Will Travel was developed in partnership between the Confederation Centre of the Arts and Blyth Festival, with funding support from Ontario Arts Council and the Government of Ontario.
