Hamilton, ON October 16, 2023 — Canadian actor Jake Epstein, also known as “that guy from Degrassi,” brings some “Razzle Dazzle” and other showtunes to his musical memoir Boy Falls From The Sky, playing at Theatre Aquarius from October 25 to November 4.

Boy Falls From The Sky had a smash sell-out run as part of the Mirvish season at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto last year. This cabaret-style musical, told by Epstein and backed by a three-piece band, is filled with stories that are both hilarious and heartfelt about Epstein’s life in the spotlight.

“Something will make you laugh, or make your heart ache, or make you reconsider your perspective. Throw in some powerful performances, Epstein’s innate charm and humour, and the palpable love and care that emanates from all aspects of the production and you’ve got a prime example of what makes storytelling (and live theatre) so special.” – Broadway World

“Boy Falls From the Sky” is finely crafted by Epstein and director/co-creator Robert McQueen, nary a song or story out of place. At a brisk 80 minutes, you only wish the natural storyteller that is Epstein could go on forever.” – Toronto Star

Jake Epstein’s living his childhood dreams, having starred in the US National Tours of Spring Awakening and American Idiot, played Spider-Man on Broadway and originated the lead role of Carole King’s husband – Gerry Goffin in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. But the thing about dreams is, they don’t always go as planned. Epstein shares the rejection, stage fright and heartbreak through song and story behind a seemingly successful career in this showbiz tell-all. Laden with musical numbers, Boy Falls From The Sky is a story for anyone who’s ever tried to go after their dreams.

Boy Falls From The Sky is realized by writer and performer Jake Epstein, developed and directed by Robert McQueen, and originally produced by Derrick Chua with musical orchestration and arrangement by musical director Daniel Abrahamson. The creative team also includes: production manager and sound designer Erik Richards, set and props designer Brandon Kleiman, lighting designer Chris Malkowski, bassist Abby David, drummer Justin Han, and stage manager Emmanuelle So.

Boy Falls From The Sky will premiere at Hamilton’s Theatre Aquarius on October 25 and will run until November 4. Tickets are available through the Box Office at 905.522.7529 (toll free 1.800.465.7529), online at theatreaquarius.org, or in person at Theatre Aquarius, 190 King William Street, Hamilton.
