Opportunities for Students, Artists, and the Community

Opportunities for Students

Theatre Aquarius is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of artists through student classes, performance and workshop opportunities, and connecting young artists with industry professionals. In partnership with incite Foundation for the Arts, we also offer bursaries to reduce barriers and open opportunities for all.

Our diverse programs provide hands-on training in acting, movement, storytelling, and musical theatre, empowering students of all skill levels.

Through education and engagement, Theatre Aquarius inspires creativity, confidence, and a lifelong passion for the performing arts.

Opportunities for Artists

Theatre Aquarius champions professional artists by providing affordable access to creative spaces, programming support for new projects, and casting opportunities in our professional productions. In fact, last season, Theatre Aquarius hired over 25 local actors, designers, and musicians. Through these initiatives, we foster artistic growth, collaboration, and innovation, strengthening the local theatre community and ensuring a vibrant future for professional theatre in Hamilton.

“During a recent development workshop we reached out to Theatre Aquarius. Their support became central to our process, both logistically and spiritually. The space felt like home. The people were kind, gracious and supportive. They took time to make us feel welcome. And the life in the building! It is a real gathering place of visiting and local artists. It helped us see that our project was part of the larger conversation happening within an interconnected art community. Theatre Aquarius really is like a town centre for theatre in Hamilton. ”

Community Connections

Theatre Aquarius is committed to community outreach through initiatives like Community Night, which provides organizations with complimentary access to performances for their staff and clients. We also offer special events such as talkbacks and fireside chats, fostering meaningful discussions between artists and audiences. These programs create inclusive, engaging experiences that connect the community with the arts, making live theatre accessible, inspiring, and deeply enriching for all.

“Theatre Aquarius has really shined a warm spotlight on the city of Hamilton since opening their curtains with their Community Night program. Theatre and art flourishes with community and Community Night offers that to spaces that would never have the opportunity to experience it. Our students and clients thank you. Standing ovation from Pathways to Education. Encore! Encore!”
