Jamie Drake

Percussion

Jamie Drake is a percussionist, drummer, arranger and composer who loves musical collaboration and is thrilled to be making his Theatre Aquarius debut.  Selected other theatre credits include work with Musical Stage Company (UnCovered, Next to Normal, Fun Home), Canadian Stage (London Road), Mirvish (Matilda), Young People’s Theatre (Jacob Two-Two, Suessical, Pinocchio) and Talk is Free Theatre (Assassins, Candide, Into the Woods).  In addition to his work in musical theatre, Jamie regularly performs with choirs and orchestras across the GTA.  He is a member of TorQ Percussion Quartet, with whom he has performed recitals and concertos across North America, and is a member of the artistic staff of the Hamilton Children’s Choir and percussionist with the Toronto Children’s Chorus.  Jamie holds a master’s degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a doctorate from the University of Toronto, and is currently Assistant Professor of Percussion at the DAN School of Drama and Music at Queen’s University.
