Playwright
Jesse LaVercombe is originally from Minnesota and came to Canada in 2010 to attend the National Theatre School. He co-created and starred in the Dora-winning theatre production King Gilgamesh with Ahmed Moneka, which ran in Minneapolis, Chicago, New York City, Halifax, and twice in Toronto at Soulpepper Theatre. He also co-wrote the feature film Code 8: Part Il (Netflix).
As an actor, he won the Toronto ACTRA Award and received a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Violation (Sundance, TIFF) and appears in four seasons on Murdoch Mysteries. Onstage he’s performed at The National Arts Centre, Tarragon, Necessary Angel, Blyth, The Jungle Theater in Minneapolis, and The Marigny Opera House in New Orleans.
