Lighting Designer

Louise Guinand has designed lighting for over 600 shows at theatres across Canada and the U.S including Stratford Festival, Shaw Festival, Western Canada Theatre, Citadel, Grand Theatre, Soulpepper, Canstage, Globe Theatre, Blyth Festival, Theatre Orangeville, Kennedy Center and New York Shakespeare Festival.

Previous credits at Theatre Aquarius include BlackbirdMary PoppinsCabaretThe Sound of MusicSherlock Holmes: The Final AdventureColours in the Storm.

Recent credits include 1939 (Canstage); Candida (Shaw Festival); Romeo and Juliet (Stratford); Liars at a Funeral (1000 Islands Playhouse) and Casey and Diana (Soulpepper). 

She has received multiple award nominations across the country and was the recipient of the 1992 Dora Mavor Moore Award for Best Lighting Design for a Musical. Louise was nominated in 2012 for the Siminovitch award.

Louise Guinand is a graduate of Queens University and of the National Theatre School’s Production Section.
