Melissa Murray-Mutch is an actor, producer, playwright and arts educator from the New York Metro area who has spent the last four years as an arts educator at the Theatre Aquarius Theatre School. She has also worked as an arts educator with the Young People’s Theatre of Toronto, Art Gallery of Hamilton and across the border with Manhattan Theatre Club and the American Slavery Project.

As an emerging playwright, Melissa’s play “Unwanted” was selected for the first annual “Decolonize Your Ears Festival” with the Red Betty Theatre and is currently a recipient of the 2022 Garden Party Award from Porchlight Theatre and Industry.

Melissa is the co-founder and Artistic Director of the Gritty City Theatre Company, Board Chair for Centre 3 for Artistic and Social Practice and member of the Playwrights Guild.
