Ranil Sonnadara

Sound Designer

Ranil Sonnadara is an award-winning UK-trained theatrical sound designer and composer who moved to Canada in 1998 to pursue research in psychoacoustics. In his “spare time” Ranil is the Creative Director of the McMaster Institute for Music and the Mind’s LIVELab, Director of McMaster University’s Performance Science Lab, and Head of Sound Design for the Stratford Festival. Production credits include: Barnum, Beauty and the Beast, Coriolanus, Hamlet, Jesus Christ Superstar, Little Shop of Horrors, Peter Pan, Pirates of Penzance, Red, Rocky, Sweeney Todd, The Extinction Therapist, The Father, The Invisible Hand, The Nether, The Sound of Music, True West, Wicked, Wind in the Willows and most recently Chris, Mrs. for Boldly Productions and London Assurance for the Stratford Festival.
