Acting – Grades 2 to 3

Magic of Theatre, February 4, 2023 – May 27, 2023

Join us for winter and spring, participants will be working towards a performance piece for our spring show: The Emerald City!

In this play-based class, you can build confidence, foster teamwork, and nurture creativity. Participants develop theatre skills through play. Each class includes warmup, games, theatre-making activities and performance. Practice your body and vocal awareness, expression, and collaboration. Create your own character and work together to explore group storytelling. Along with class work, we will be building a piece to perform in The Emerald City.

Key skills: confidence, expression, interpretation, collaboration, storytelling and character development.

*It is possible for participants to take Part 1 or Part 2, however, it is preferable to engage in both sessions, as we will be building a performance piece throughout both Parts 1 & 2, that will be shared in a full school recital on May 27, 2023.

Acting – Grades 4 to 6

Acting Fundamentals, February 4 2023 – May 27, 2023

Join us for winter and spring, participants will be working towards a performance piece for our spring show: The Emerald City!

Participants learn acting through performance, physical and text exploration, body and vocal awareness, and expression. Build confidence, foster teamwork, and nurture creativity, through challenging, physical, and fun classes. Develop your creative voice and work collaboratively. Each class includes warmup, theatre exercises and games, theatre-making activities and performance. Along with class work, we will be building a piece to perform in The Emerald City.

Key skills: character development, storytelling, collaboration, presentation, confidence, vocal and physical expression.

*It is possible for participants to take Part 1 or Part 2, however, it is preferable to engage in both sessions, as we will be building a performance piece throughout both Parts 1 & 2, that will be shared in a full school recital on May 27, 2023.

Acting – Grades 7 to 9

Acting Essentials, February 4 2023 – May 27, 2023

Join us for winter and spring, participants will be working towards a performance piece for our spring show: The Emerald City!

Learn and advance acting skills through performance, theatre-making, games, script work, collaboration and vocal, physical, text analysis technique. Build confidence, foster teamwork, and nurture creativity through challenging, physical, and fun classes. Classes engage character development and scene study. Along with class work, we will be building a piece to perform in The Emerald City.

Key skills: text analysis, pursuing objectives, creating a physical reality and physical expression, building authentic characters, collaboration, and action.

*It is possible for participants to take Part 1 or Part 2, however, it is preferable to engage in both sessions, as we will be building a performance piece throughout both Parts 1 & 2, that will be shared in a full school recital on May 27, 2023.

Acting – Grades 10 to 12

Actors Training, February 4, 2023 – May 27, 2023

Join us for winter and spring, participants will be working towards a performance piece for our spring show: The Emerald City!

Train in acting technique, collaboration, script analysis and character exploration. Develop your skills through voice and movement, scene study, drama games, improv. Dive into scripts and characters, engage in scene study and ensemble theatre creation. Learn about yourself, your peers, stories, characters, and scenes through games, exercises and scripts. This is an in-depth class for participants who love drama- no experience necessary. Along with class work, we will be building a piece to perform in The Emerald City.

Key skills: text and character analysis, scene study and scene work, pursuing objections, physical exploration, collaboration, vocal technique.

*It is possible for participants to take Part 1 or Part 2, however, it is preferable to engage in both sessions, as we will be building a performance piece throughout both Parts 1 & 2, that will be shared in a full school recital on May 27, 2023.

Scene Study

Engage your creativity! Through drama exercises, improv games and scene study, you will discover the artist within. Learn acting techniques, body and vocal awareness, engage in fun games and exercises, connect with others and challenge yourself. Classes are responsive to the participants experience and skill level. Each term we explore a new play.
