Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is one of the world’s most beloved family musicals, and this holiday season it takes over the Theatre Aquarius Main Stage in downtown Hamilton from November 18 to December 20, 2026.
Joseph is his father’s favourite son, and he has the coat of many colours to prove it. His eleven brothers are not impressed. Sold off and sent to Egypt, Joseph turns a talent for reading dreams into a rise all the way to Pharaoh’s palace. When famine brings his family to his door, he has to decide what kind of brother he wants to be.
The score is pure joy. Pop and musical theatre standards like “Any Dream Will Do,” “Close Every Door” and “Go, Go, Go Joseph” bounce from country and calypso to rock and roll, and it’s been winning over first-time theatregoers and lifelong fans for more than 50 years. Fair warning: you’ll be humming “Any Dream Will Do” all the way home.
This electrifying, modern production brings Joseph’s story to life with spectacular dancing, vibrant storytelling and joyful energy. Kaden Brett Forsberg stars as Joseph, with Kaleigh Gorka as the Narrator, under the direction of Robin Calvert and musical direction of Patrick Bowman.

It retells the story of Joseph, the favourite son of Jacob, whose jealous brothers sell him off to Egypt. In Egypt, his gift for interpreting dreams lifts him to Pharaoh’s side, and when famine strikes, his brothers come to him for help. It’s a story about family, forgiveness and holding on to your dreams.
