A leader in arts education for over 30 years, Theatre Aquarius Theatre School has supported thousands of youth and championed the creativity and personal success of each participant. 

At Theatre Aquarius Theatre School, participants learn and advance skills in music, dance, acting, and theatre making. Participants develop deep bonds and friendships, learn about the power of ensemble, explore ideas about their world, their community and about the thoughts and feelings of others. Participants learn to believe in themselves, take action, make choices, dig deep, connect, and be brave! 

Theatre Aquarius actively upholds values of inclusion, equity, safety, and promotes critical thinking, imagination, and empathy. 

Taught by a faculty of working professional artists and industry leaders, young artists discover the joy of theatre, personal expression and self-confidence while fostering their own unique creativity!


Our classes take place at our Theatre Aquarius Arts Centre located at 191 King William Street, (directly across from the Theatre Aquarius marquee).

ACTING – Magic of Theatre, Grades 2 & 3

 

In this play-based class, you can build confidence, foster teamwork, and nurture creativity. Participants develop theatre skills through play. Each class includes warmup, games, theatre-making activities and performance. Practice your body and vocal awareness, expression, and collaboration. Create your own character and work together to explore group storytelling. 

Details: Fall Session – Saturdays, September 24 – November 19, 2022. 10:30am – 12:00pm   *no class October 8

Fee: $195

 

ACTING – Acting Fundamentals, Grades 4, 5 & 6

Participants learn acting through performance, physical and text exploration, body and vocal awareness, and expression. Build confidence, foster teamwork, and nurture creativity, through challenging, physical, and fun classes. Develop your creative voice and work collaboratively. Each class includes warmup, theatre exercises and games, theatre-making activities and performance. Each term we engage new material and continue to learn and grow.

ACTING – Acting Essentials, Grades 7, 8 & 9

 

Learn and advance acting skills through performance, theatre-making, games, script work, collaboration and vocal, physical, text analysis technique. Build confidence, foster teamwork, and nurture creativity through challenging, physical, and fun classes. Classes engage character development and scene study. Each term we engage new material to continue to learn and grow.

  

Details: Fall Session – Saturdays, September 24 – November 19, 2022. 12:30pm to 2:30pm.

Fee: $260 

ACTING – Actor’s Training, Grades 10, 11 & 12

 

Train in acting technique, collaboration, script analysis and character exploration. Develop your skills through voice and movement, scene study, drama games, improv. Dive into scripts and characters, engage in scene study and ensemble theatre creation. Learn about yourself, your peers, stories, characters, and scenes through games, exercises and scripts. This is an in-depth class for participants who love drama- no experience necessary. We explore a new script each term to continue to learn and grow. 

Details: Fall Session – Thursdays, September 29 – November 17, 2022. 4:30pm to 6:30pm.

Fee: $260 +HST

Adults Acting

ACTING – Adult – Scene Study

 

Engage your creativity! Through drama exercises, improv games and scene study, you will discover the artist within. Learn acting techniques, body and vocal awareness, engage in fun games and exercises, connect with others and challenge yourself. Classes are responsive to the participants experience and skill level. Each term we explore a new play.

Fee: $275 + HST

MUSICAL THEATRE – Sing, Dance and Act, Grades 4 – 7

 

Learn music, dance and acting all in one exciting and fun course! Bring musical theatre songs to life, learn technique, get active and challenge yourself in a safe and supportive environment. Classes include solo and group singing, dance and movement, and acting. New songs every term help you continue to learn and grow! 

Details: Fall Session – Wednesdays, September 28 – November 16, 2022. 4:15pm to 6:00pm.

MUSICAL THEATRE – Sing, Dance and Act, Grades 8 – 12

 

Sing, dance and act! Musical theatre offers participants the opportunity to develop multiple skills, while gaining confidence, and teamwork. Explore musical theatre repertoire, learn choreography, develop characters, sing in small groups and as an ensemble. 

New songs every term, continue to learn and grow! 

  

Details: Fall Session – Wednesdays, September 28 – November 16, 2022. 4:15pm to 6:00pm.  

Fee: $260 + HST

NEW FALL SHOW PROGRAM, Ages 8+ 

** This program is only open to those who have taken previous Theatre Aquarius classes

Create, rehearse, perform. Throughout the course, participants will work on songs to be performed during the MainStage Holiday show at Theatre Aquarius. Participants will engage artistic creation processes with theatre artists, rigorous rehearsals and live performances. The show program ensemble will perform for a public audience December 6- 9, 2022, 7:30pm on the MainStage at the Theatre Aquarius Home for the Holidays production.  

Details: Fall Session

Wednesdays: October 5 – November 16, 2022. 6:30pm to 8:00pm

Wednesdays November 23 and 30, 2022, 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Performances: Tuesday, December 6 – Friday, December 9,  7:00pm – 8:00pm
